UC Irvine has finished in the top three in the highly competitive Big West Conference three of the last four years. Fifty-three Anteater players have earned All-Big West honors with Kelly Wing selected as Big West Player of the Year in 2004. Five players have garnered All-American status.

UC Irvine has made three NCAA Championship Tournament appearances and been ranked as high as in 18^th in the country in 2010. UCI posted a 22-8 overall record in 2010, the fifth 20-win season in program history.
