IRVINE, Calif. – Men's track athlete Lloyd Sicard has been named this week's Buffalo Wild Wings Anteater of the Week after his performance at the Big West Championships.
The senior defended his Big West title in the 110-meter hurdles putting him in rarified air as being only the third, three-time 110H-meter Big West Champion. Sicard was the only runner over the weekend to break the 14-second mark as he posted a wind legal 13.61 mark. This was Sicard's fastest race of the season and only .01 seconds off the meet record and his school record.
Sicard teamed up with Isaiah Jewett, Paul Resong and Brandon Howard to set a season-best time of 3:09.19 in winning the 4x400 relay. Sicard also joined Howard, Evan Singletary and Jordan Gibson to place second in the 4x100 posting a season-best time of 40.62.
Sicard, who is ranked fourth in the region in the hurdles, will move on to the NCAA West Preliminary Round in Austin, Texas, May 25-27, where he looks to qualify for his third consecutive NCAA Championship meet while also competing in the 4x400 relay.
