• He was also a back-to-back winner on March 14 & 21, while senior Lloyd Sicard was recognized on March 28.
• Jewett is the conference leader in the 400m (46.82) and 800m (1:48.43), and Sicard ranks first in the 110H (13.74).
• The duo also made up half of the Anteaters' quartet that ran the fastest 4x400 relay in the Big West at 3:11.20.

LAST TIME OUT: UC Irvine participated in four different meets over a three-day span last week. Sophomore Isaiah Jewett led the way with his fifth individual victory of the year as he was the top finisher in the collegiate open section of the 800m at the prestigious Mt. SAC Relays. Jewett clocked in with a personal-record 1:48.43, which moves him up to No. 3 among UCI's all-time leaders. At the Beach Invitational, senior Matt Seawright established a lifetime best for the second time in as many weeks with a toss of 205-06 in the hammer throw. Senior Brandon Howard added a season-best 52.58 in the 400m hurdles, while junior Michael Hamill (10.89) and senior Antwon Parker (11.04) each set a PR in the 100m. Senior David Aguilar anchored the Anteaters' effort in the mid-distances with a personal-best 1:54.46 in the 800m.

ALL WE DO IS WIN: The Anteaters have combined for 17 event wins (including relays) this season. Isaiah Jewett leads the way with five individual victories as he is unbeaten in three 800m and two 400m races. Lloyd Sicard has also finished ahead of the pack in the 110H four times. In addition, Sicard has been a part of all five first-place relay teams, with Jewett joining him in a trio of 4x400 triumphs.

LEAVING A LEGACY: Senior Lloyd Sicard continues to add on to his impressive resume in his final collegiate campaign. He earned his sixth career Big West Men's Track Athlete of the Week honor after coming away with victories in the 110H and 4x400 relay at the UC Riverside Spring Classic Invitational. Sicard then set a season best in the 110H at the Mondo Team Challenge (13.87), and again at the Big West Challenge where he clocked in with a meet-record 13.74. That time ranks first in the Big West, seventh in the West Region and 12th in the NCAA this year. The Gardena, Calif., native is the reigning co-Big West Track Athlete of the Year and two-time defending conference champion in the 110H where he owns the school record at 13.60. He advanced to the NCAA Championships as a sophomore and junior, while qualifying for the NCAA West Prelims all three years. Sicard also had a chance to compete among the nation's best this past summer as he was one of 32 athletes to earn a spot in the 110H at the U.S. Olympic Trials.

THREE CHEERS FOR JEWETT: Sophomore Isaiah Jewett picked up his third Big West Men's Track Athlete of the Week award after winning the 800m collegiate open section at the prestigious Mt. SAC Relays. He finished first in a field of 50 competitors with a personal-record 1:48.43. That bumps him up two spots to No. 3 in school history as he now sits behind only Olympians Charles Jock and Steve Scott on the all-time list. Jewett also earned back-to-back honors on March 14 and 21. He snagged his second-straight accolade after his 800m performance at the UCI Spring Break Collegiate Classic where he won the event in a then lifetime-best 1:49.14. Previously, the Inglewood, Calif., native was recognized for his 400m victory at the Ben Brown Invitational as he notched a then personal-best 47.38. Jewett topped that performance at the Mondo Team Challenge in Sacramento with a time of 46.82. He ranks first in the Big West in both the 400m and 800m.

AROUND THE HORN: Senior Matt Seawright established a personal record in the hammer throw at the Big West Challenge (204-04) and then again at the Beach Invitational (205-06) … Seawright was a 2016 NCAA West Preliminary qualifier in the hammer and discus and also ranks among the top-five in school history in both events … Freshman Hector Garcia earned his first collegiate victory at the Mondo Team Challenge where he finished ahead of the 1500m pack in a lifetime-best 3:56.37 … Junior Jon Dickinson set a personal-best 169-09 in the hammer on April 7, putting him at No. 10 among UCI's all-time leaders … In his first collegiate race, freshman Jordan Gibson ran UC Irvine's fastest 200m time of the season at the UCR Spring Classic Invitational (21.79) … The 'Eaters have a young team with 65 percent of their roster being comprised of underclassmen (10 freshmen, seven sophomores).

UP NEXT: UC Irvine returns to Anteater Stadium next weekend when it hosts the adidas/Steve Scott Invitational, April 28-29. It will be UCI's final home meet of the season and the 'Eaters will recognize their seniors prior to the last event on Saturday.
