Q: Why is your donation so important to UC Irvine Athletics?
A. The cost of operating a Division I Athletics Program is continuously on the rise and providing resources to help our student-athletes and coaches achieve excellence in the classroom and in competition follows suit. With 18 varsity programs, UC Irvine Athletics works to provide support for each of our 350 student-athletes. Q: Why the Anteater Athletic Fund?
A: The Anteater Athletic Fund provides UC Irvine Athletics with the opportunity to meet its goals of graduating students, competing with integrity and winning with pride. The Fund also allows UC Irvine to address the rising costs that are associated with competiting at the Division I level. Anteater Athletic Fund gifts provide all UC Irvine student-athletes with uniforms, up to date training facilities and equipment, team travel, meals, world-class coaches, recruiting support, academic support programs and other essential components required to support all of UC Irvine teams and student-athletes.

Q: How can I become a member of the Anteater Athletic Fund and who is eligible to join?
Anyone who is interested in supporting the success of UC Irvine’s 350 student-athletes is eligible to join the Anteater Athletic Fund. Membership benefits begin at just $50 and you can donate in three easy ways:

Q: What is the Seat Equity Progam for Men's Basketball?
A: The Seat Equity Program looks to formalize the seating process for men’s basketball in the Bren Events Center with a simple format that allows fans to be seated in an equitable manner based on their level of support for the program. Begining with the 2015-16 Men's Basketball Season a minimum per-seat donation will be required for all premium reserved and reserved seat locations within the Bren Events Center. The per seat donation will be in addition to the cost of the season ticket.
All current season ticket holders will have the opportunity to stay in their current seats if they meet the minimum donation requirements:
$50 per seat in premium reserved
$25 per seat in reserved seating
$0 per seat in general admission seating

Q: Can I restrict my donation to a specific sport?
A: Although the athletic department prefers unrestricted gifts to the Anteater Athletic Fund, you can restrict your donation to a specific sport program. Simply make a note on your pledge card that says “restrict to sport”. Donations to specific sport programs do not receive benefits from the Anteater Athletic Fund. Q: What is the impact of unrestricted giving?
A: Unrestricted giving allows the department to support all 18 teams by providing resources for leadership development, sports medicine and strength training, recruiting, team travel, equipment, and facility improvement projects. If you prefer to direct your gift to a specific program or project within UC Irvine Athletics, your donation will not be eligible for Anteater Athletic Fund benefits. To ensure that you receive all benefits associated with your membership for the 2016-17 year, your donation is due by June 30th, 2017.
Q: Is my gift tax-deductible?
A: YES! The UC Irvine Foundation maintains 501 (C)(3) status and therefore your gift is tax-deductible to the full extent by law. Consult with your tax advisor to determine the deductiblity of your gift.
Q: What is a pledge? Can I make a pledge today and make payments toward that pledge?
A: A pledge is an amount of money that you promise to contribute. Pledges do not need to paid immediately. The pledged amount can be paid over an agreed payment schedule (monthly, quarterly, etc).
Q: How do I earn Priority Points?
A: All gifts to the Anteater Athletic Fund earn Priority Points which determine the order in which Anteater Athletic Fund member’s season ticket, parking, and seating requests are reviewed. Priority Points are also used to help allocate and assign seating at away and post-season games. Click here to learn more about our Priority Points system.
Q: How do I gain hospitality event access?
A: The Irvine BMW Men's Basketball Hospitality Suite is open to donors to the AAF at the Captain Level ($2,000) and above.
The Newkirk Pavilion at Anteater Ballpark is open to donors to the AAF at the Letterwinner Level ($1,000) and above.
Q: What is available to donors with regards to parking & VIP options on game day?
- All-American Level and above ($3,000+) Donors at the All-American level and above ($3,000+) can gain access to Lot 6A parking directly adjacent from the Bren Events Center on Men's Basketball gameday in addition to access to the Irvine BMW Men's Basketball Hospitality Suite.
- Captain Level ($2,000-$2,999) Donors at the Captain level ($2,000-$2,999) earn a season parking pass to the Mesa Parking Structure in addition to access to the Irvine BMW Men's Basketball Hospitality Suite.
- MVP Level ($1,500-$1,999) Donors at the MVP Level ($1,500-$1,999) earn a one-day general parking pass in the Mesa Parking Structure for the Men's Basketball season and will recieve access to the Newkirk Pavilion at Anteater Ballpark, but DO NOT receive access to the Irvine BMW Men's Basketball Hospitality Suite.
